BIWOC* IMPACT
We launched our project BIWOC* Impact in 2021 and wrapped it up at the end of 2024. Its impact still lives on in the communities and connections it created.
Our idea
As BIW*oC and TIN*BIPoC, systemic, structural, institutional, and individual discrimination and marginalization limit our ability to be our authentic, full, and capable selves in the workplace. Our potential to create, lead, and socially and economically participate is hindered by intersectional discrimination and biases held by our colleagues, managers, and executives, as well as the structures and systems that we work in.
Our network and we at BIWOC* Rising think it’s high time for a fundamental transformation of the German labor market and created the project BIWOC* Impact. This project is about the creation of safer, anti-racist, and discrimination-free work and community spaces to connect, understand, empower each other and build professional and social networks.
We connect and empower through:
-
- Workshops & Seminars
- Info Events
- Open Network Evenings
- Exclusive Community Evenings
- Podcasts
- Info Videos
- Advocacy (Collaborations & Networking)
- Social Media
- Anti-Racist & Political Education
- Anti-Discrimination Consultation
BIWOC* Impact was funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth under the federal program Demokratie Leben!, as well as by filia.die frauenstiftung and Stiftung Pfefferwerk

brave spaces 2.0.
In 2023 & 2024, our Project Brave Spaces 2.0 was in full bloom.
Our idea
Brave Spaces 2.0 set out to redefine who can become an entrepreneur by increasing visibility and access for historically marginalized groups. The project aimed to demystify and simplify the bureaucracy of entrepreneurship in Germany by providing better access to information, tailored support, and meaningful networking opportunities.
We empowered a community of trans*, inter*, non-binary BIPoC, and BIW*oC by offering curated resources for solopreneurs and founders. Whether participants were taking their first steps into entrepreneurship or seeking to grow their ideas beyond German borders, we ensured they had the guidance and tools needed to succeed.
Brave Spaces events created a space for peers to meet eye-to-eye, connect, and build relationships that could support them on their entrepreneurial journeys.
For this project, we collaborated with Founderland. Brave Spaces 2.0 was sponsored by SEND e.V. and supported by Google.org.
MENTORING PROGRAM.
In 2021, our mentoring program – funded by filia.die frauenstiftung – was in full bloom.
Our idea
Keeping our intersectional approach in mind, we not only waned to boost our careers, but also empower each other and share strategies how to fight racism, transphobia, sexism, classism etc, that often hold our careers back.
No matter where you are in your career or life, the right mentor can energize you and provide counsel when you need it. And being a mentor can gives you the chance to share what you’ve learned with others, gain new perspectives as you learn from your mentee, and deepen your leadership skills.
