On the streets together – March 8 Protest Prep Workshop

Friday, 6th March
Doors open at 18:00
BIWOC* Rising Space
Dresdener Str. 11, 10999 Berlin

While March 8 is often celebrated publicly, many women, trans, intersex and non binary people continue to experience systemic oppression. For those who want to take the streets, it is important to be prepared.

This hands-on workshop offers practical insights on how to prepare for a protest in Berlin, move in solidarity, protect one another, and care for ourselves and others in challenging situations. We will also discuss our rights as protesters and share strategies to help keep each other as safe as possible.

Open to BIPOC, BIWOC* and TIN* BIPOC centered.

There will be space to create and make signs. Bring paper or cardboard, markers, pens and colours.

Solidarity is our safety.

We look forward to seeing you.

Stonewall was a Riot!

From the first to the last day of June, a growing global community celebrates »Pride Month«. We are committed to intersectional justice and therefore challenge systems of oppressive power. While facing ongoing challenges in securing sustainable funding, we remain committed to our values and to the responsibilities these involve. Hence, as vital support is taken from marginalised individuals and communities here, we cannot remain silent.

INTERSECTIONAL WORK & SOCIAL CLUB

BIWOC* Rising is the first intersectional work & social club in Berlin and Germany. This safer space is exclusively for women, trans, inter and non-binary people who identify as Black, indigenous or of Colour! Through training programs, empowerment workshops, and a work-desk in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg, BIWOC* Rising is creating a new working culture – a working culture that transcends the white, homogenous, capitalist one that has been a core driver of gentrification and marginalization in Berlin.
