Language: English

What does it take to start something of your own and keep it going?

Tune in on Thursday, 04 June, 15:00–16:00 to (H)our Realities: What It Takes to Build
Multiexpertise, networks and resistance in BIPoC entrepreneurship ✨
Language: English

A conversation with @EquiNet DEI Expert & Dr. Lana Sirri, and with Vicky Germain, co-founder of Kikili e.V., on what it means to build as a BIPoC entrepreneur, creative, or self-employed person.

Together, we explore the opportunities, challenges, and risks that come with building a business, project, or initiative while navigating discrimination, uncertainty, and structural barriers.

From Berlin to Sandau (Elbe), Vicky shares insights into community work, migration, memory, and the transformation of a former granary into a vibrant space for art, culture, and participation. We also talk about the role of networks, support structures, and collective resilience in making long-term visions possible.

INTERSECTIONAL WORK & SOCIAL CLUB

BIWOC* Rising is the first intersectional work & social club in Berlin and Germany. This safer space is exclusively for women, trans, inter and non-binary people who identify as Black, indigenous or of Colour! Through training programs, empowerment workshops, and a work-desk in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg, BIWOC* Rising is creating a new working culture – a working culture that transcends the white, homogenous, capitalist one that has been a core driver of gentrification and marginalization in Berlin.
