EXPLORING OUR COMMON GROUNDS: for Pan-Asian Solidarity & Beyond
with Rice Complex
Mapping Migration, Labour, and Solidarity
In this workshop, Rice Complex invite participants* to bring a wedge of our personal and political history in relations to the geographies seen as „Asia“, and to map our trajectories, migration histories, cultural practices and realities pertaining to work, labour, and class. What are our shared struggles and common grounds? How do we negotiate with our multiple subjectivities in a time of political anxiety?
Please bring a bit of yourself and your story to the workshop
be it a dish or recipe, a song or a poem, a revolutionary story of our hometown or a city we have lived in, a slice of a protest movement that has influenced your politics, an old family picture, a tool or technology, a scene from a play, or any other format that you are comfortable with sharing with others.
FACILIATOR – Rice Complex
Rice Complex is a Berlin-based pan-Asian solidarity network that critically reflects and navigates our personal and political histories in relation to the colonial and imperialist entanglements, particularly in the geographies that are now categorized as „Asia“. Through collective reading, cooking, singing, caring, and playing, we experiment on how we can build solidarity and radical kinship in these contexts and develop our praxis.
