Workshop with Care

20. September 2023

In this somatic session, the practice taking care of ourselves somatically, centering cares and commitments, cultivating resilience and finding peace and quiet in the turbulences of in daily lives took place. We ask ourselves and each other, what does it mean to be connected to ourselves right now? How do we sustain care, in an environment that favors urgency and individualism?

Care (they/them) is a Black trans non-binary trauma-informed care practitioner, artist and doula who works on re-membering embodied experiences of awe, connection, miracles and care. Their work blooms at the intersection of Black interiority, somatic memory and queer intimacies.

BIWOC* Rising is the first intersectional work & social club in Berlin and Germany. This safer space is exclusively for women, trans, inter and non-binary people who identify as Black, indigenous or of Colour! Through training programs, empowerment workshops, and a work-desk in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg, BIWOC* Rising is creating a new working culture – a working culture that transcends the white, homogenous, capitalist one that has been a core driver of gentrification and marginalization in Berlin.
